I Voted!

Written on October 15, 2020

Dreary morning. Fog, grey skies. No traffic.

Drive was silent, anticipation lingering.

Parked the car, grabbed my umbrella, and locked the car.

Walked into the facility and was one of at least 50 sitting in a waiting area, listening to Imagine Dragons while typing this.

Over the last three days, people have been turning out to the polls in record numbers ahead of November 3rd. I tried to vote on the second day of early voting but chickened out. Honey, the line was long, the waiting area was filled and people were coughing. I’m not ashamed to say this: COVID scares the shit out of me (pardon my language). So I left and decided to come another day. And today is the day.

I hope that every eligible voter that is registered to vote, vote this time around. Change is in the air and we have the power to either change our current narrative here in the United States or leave it alone. I like our President. Regardless of what my personal opinion is of his leadership style, one thing that stands out to me the most is how he has made politics a little more interesting to me. The things that he has said at times helped re-ignite my passion for doing research. I have to follow what he is referencing to attempt any true understanding of what he is saying.

I am not trying to pitch for any political parties nor do I intended to make this blog a political one. I just want people to take a look at everything these candidates have to offer and make sure your vote is beneficial not just to you, but for our future.

WhyNetta

I’m WhyNetta—the woman behind Life With No Breaks.

I didn’t set out to build a platform. I set out to survive, to heal, and eventually, to understand myself more honestly.

For many years, my life revolved around being strong for everyone else—raising children, holding things together, and navigating relationships that required me to shrink in order to keep the peace. After experiencing narcissistic abuse and the unraveling that followed, I reached a point where continuing as I was simply wasn’t an option. Healing became a necessity, not a trend.

Life With No Breaks grew out of that season—not from perfection, but from reflection. It became a place where I could process real life in real time: parenting, rebuilding stability, breaking generational cycles, managing fear and faith side by side, and learning how to choose myself without guilt. Writing and speaking became tools for clarity, accountability, and growth—not just for me, but for others walking similar paths.

Today, I approach life with more intention and less urgency. I believe in growth that’s honest, faith that’s grounded, and healing that doesn’t require performance. I’m still learning, still rebuilding, and still choosing better—one decision at a time.

This space is a reflection of that journey.
